  • Corrosion Resistant

Aluminium naturally generates a protective oxide coating and is highly corrosion resistant. Different types of surface treatment such as anodizing, painting or lacquering can further improve this property. It is particularly useful for applications where protection and conservation are required.

  • Durable

Functional, durable, appealing and easy to maintain aluminum structures. Aluminum made tremendous advances as a structural construction material in the last thirty years.

  • Longlasting

As a building material, aluminium is the second most widely used metal in buildings after steel. Aluminium used internally has an infinite lifespan. · Coated aluminium stands the test of time, with power coatings applied in the '70s still performing well today.

The Benefits of Aluminum

The low weight and corrosion resistance are attributed to the absence of iron, which often makes aluminium an attractive alternative to steel. It is used across many industries, perhaps most notably in transportation, aerospace and construction where it guarantees fantastic length of service even in demanding environments.

Aluminum vs Steel

The price of steel and aluminum continuously changes, depending upon the global supply and demand.

More Flexible

Aluminum is very desirable because it is more malleable and elastic than steel. Aluminum can go places and create shapes where steel is not capable.

Rust - Free

Aluminum, on the other hand, by nature does not rust, meaning it can last longer even in humid environments. Steel is vulnerable to rust, it often requires a protective coating to help slow the inevitable process.

Moisture Resistant

An aluminum ceiling will never rust, while a steel ceiling could develop rust due to the presence of iron in the steel. With proper sealing offered by Ceilings Plus, ventilation, and regular maintenance of air conditioning systems and the building roof to prevent unnecessary exposure to moisture, aluminum, due to the nature of the corrosion resistance inherent in the metal, will outperform a steel system.

No Need To Paint

Aluminum extrusion pieces, however, are anodized and don't require any painting or coating, unlike steel surfaces which need to be cleaned and painted before use.

Steel requires labor-intensive set-up. A professional welder is required!
It is corrosion resistant without further treatment, unlike steel.

Weight Differences in Steel and Aluminum

Even with the possibility of corrosion, steel is harder than aluminum. Steel’s trade-off is that steel is much heavier and much denser than aluminum. Steel is typically 2.5 times denser than aluminum.

Managing Damage

If part of a steel structure becomes damaged during production, repairing it will require the damaged piece to be cut out and a new piece to be created and welded back into the design. This is often a challenging, complicated and time-intensive process. Because of the modular nature of aluminum structural framing, swapping out a damaged bar is simple and doesn’t require much production downtime.
